Dark Tranquillity – Are The Void

When this band took alternate routes some ten years ago, Imhotep reporter Roy Kristensen didn’t really pay attention. But now, with the new album he felt it was time to reinvent their friendship. Niklas Sundin replied to the questionnaire, dealing with the band’s history, with the lyrics and obviously the music.

Dark Tranquillity – Of Eternal Chaos…

This band meant a lot to me, and I found it to be the leader of its genre at the time. The brilliant songstructures combined with the finest precision did always impressed me. I interviewed Niklas for Imhotep #1. However, this lengthy monster you’re about to read was published in Imhotep #4 (1998) and poor Niklas had to reply to questions about this, that and whatnot.

Darkthrone - Part IV: Freedom

We do not have a recent interview with the band, but since they've done plenty of interviews in recent years, we thought it was about time to give you some oldies here at Imhotep, divided into four parts.

Darkthrone - Part III: Grimness

We do not have a recent interview with the band, but since they've done plenty of interviews in recent years, we thought it was about time to give you some oldies here at Imhotep, divided into four parts.

Darkthrone - Part II: Natural Born Idiots

Darkthrone - Part I: Darkthrone Holy Darkthrone

Chaos - Politics, Religion, Violence and Whatnot

Chaos, a straight-forward thrash metal band from Kerala, India. This Indian act started in 2005 when two kids made the clear choice to play aggressive metal, those young boys were guitarist Nikhil and vocalist J.K. Their influences at that time included the bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, etc.

Tusmørke - Enlightentainment

A Norwegian band that can be considered psychedelic folk rock, released their praised debut full-length late last year. "Underjordisk Tusmørke" is so strong that writer Leif Neverdahl didn't hesitate to contact the band. Benedikt Momrak (bass, singer) replied to Leif's questions about inspirations, meaning and the Norwegian -ø!

Amorphis - Transforming Shapes

The new album “Circle” could be one of my early top ten favorites for the year. Hooking up on a trans-Atlantic phone call with vocalist Tomi Joutsen, we were able to speak for a half hour about the new album and future plans for the band. His genuine enthusiasm for this latest album as well as the history of Amorphis makes him the perfect frontman, so let’s hope for a hefty touring schedule as the band bring their sound to audiences all over the globe.

Tribulation - ...Of Death

Tribulation’s second full-length album “The Formulas of Death” (released this March on Invictus Records) showed a considerable departure from the death metal attack of their debut “The Horror”. Imhotep dug up and re-animated Peter Loftus, and sent him out him out to find out what has been going on…

Preludium - Death And War

The Polish band Preludium have released three full-length and are now writing their upcoming album. Ebby Sasi got in touch with Ion (vocals, guitars) to learn more about death metal and warfare.
