Klonosphere/ Season Of Mist (2012)
This debut album from France’s Hyperdump is a 10 song excursion into the land of industrialized, modern power groove. Artists like Fear Factory, Strapping Young Lad, and possibly Faith No More come into play- the first two musically, the latter vocally. Veering a little too close to staccato simplistic banality on “Working Men” in the juvenile, repetitive jock screams or the guitar squeals, “Rational Pain” overall isn’t treading much new ground.
Best to stick to the originators and leave Hyperdump to possibly attract the remains who can’t get enough of this pulsating, aggressive style.
