Century Media Records (2012)
In the vein of bands like Exodus and Warbringer, Spanish Angelus Apatrida offer a groove based, energetic album of modern thrash metal. Good stuff to listen to in the background, but I soon get bored by the obvious "now headbang to this" riffs. The guitar leads also don't really convey atmosphere but serve as a testament to their guitarists mastership of the instrument.
Too cleanly produced, the vocals sound post-produced and not dirty enough. Even though the production altogether is listenable, it sounds too polished. Don't compress the guitars, and by the way, the bass doesn't always have to play along them, and let us hear the vocals, not what remains from them after filtering.
In summary, good band, solid album, but lacking depth.
