self-released (2012)
Even independent acts like Texas’ All Too Human know that physical product sales are waning, and the market is moving to zeros and ones in terms of digital only offerings. “Juggernaut” signals the latest full length from the quartet, who play a mixture of progressive and power metal with modern influences. The 10 songs have a Dream Theater/Queensryche base with nuances of Nevermore/Steve Vai to keep things heavier than your normal musically minded act. Guest keyboardist Cristian van Schuerbeck flexes his fluid finger skills on the ending measures of “Thorn In Your Side”, and the marching, exotic nature of the band comes out on the follow up “Rumble”.
Decent enough I suppose, but overall “Juggernaut” didn’t hold my keen interest because I’ve heard this style thousands of times through the years.
