Another 90’s death metal band gets a second change with Portugal’s Festering. “From The Grave” is a 6 song, 26 minute demo that spits raw, blistering material much like the early Dismember, “Leprosy” era Death and a touch of Bolt Thrower. “Myth Of Creation” features slight echoing effects on Pedro Goncalves low roaring delivery, and other songs like “Infected” and “Consuming From Within” feature a guitar sound synonymous with Sunlight Studios. Festering fluctuate between a mid-tempo pummeling and bursts of speed/blasting measures that keep the riffs and arrangements flowing with power.

It’s not the freshest take on Swedish-style death metal, but for those who yearn for the early 90’s- “From The Grave” will fill that need.
