Demonhood Productions (2012)
To the best of my knowledge (which is admittedly limited in this case) “Romance of Misanthropy” dates back to 2006 and this edition is a 500 copies limited vinyl re-release. Musically we are looking at something sludgy and thrashy – kind of like Darkthrone on one of their ‘lets include a few Celtic Frost riffs’ kind of buzz. The voice even reminds me of recent Nocturno Culto. The production is lo-fi, capturing a world of filth and darkness. There are times when these guys really get it together and rock out, bringing me back to the days of "Morbid Tales", and reminding me of Gallhammer’s excellent “Killed by the Queen,” but ultimately there are too many parts where the songwriting wears thin for this to be a real contender.
