Nuclear Blast (2012)

A preview for the new full length in the fall from Doro, the reliable German traditional vocalist waving the banner high for metal comes out with this 4-song EP. Consisting of the first single “Raise Your Fist In The Air” (a new anthem paying homage to the Wacken Open Air festival), two other new songs in “Victory” and German sung ballad “Engel” as well as a French version of the title track - Doro showcases her international appeal and versatility.

The future continues with promise for Doro. Emphasizing hooks, power, and variety in terms of the tempos and arrangements- “Raise Your Fist In The Air” reminds me of her early solo album forays. Using an international team of Andreas Bruns, Doro herself and Jacob Hansen for the producing, mixing and mastering duties gives the band a punchy sonic outlook. I cannot wait for the next full length from one of the premiere German female metal vocalists.
