Bullet Train Blast - "Nothing Remains"

Mighty Music/Target Distribution (2012)

Danish hard rock with the emphasis on cranking the amps to ten and honing in on stripped down, immediate hook oriented ethics, “Nothing Remains” is the second album from the apt namesake Bullet Train Blast. Whether it’s an arena rock radio anthem such as “The Storm”, the party vibe permeating “All The Girls” or the shotgun L.A. Guns swagger within “A Life In Glory”, the five gentlemen are all about their love of loudness, as producer Jacob Hansen put the tone and production values more from a classic late 80’s perspective.

Separating themselves from superstars Volbeat, Bullet Train Blast has more in common with American acts like Buckcherry and the aforementioned L.A. Guns or Guns N Roses sound. Singer Martin Larsen has a potent, powerful upper range, reminiscent more of John Bush during his Anthrax years. 10 songs and 40 minutes later, you are ready again to hit the town for more bar crawls and screaming antics as you aim to raise hell.

There’s nothing wrong with acts like Bullet Train Blast concentrating on the roots of hard rock- rebellious and fun all the same.
