Darkthrone - Part I: Darkthrone Holy Darkthrone

We do not have a recent interview with the band, but since they've done plenty of interviews in recent years, we thought it was about time to give you some oldies here at Imhotep, divided into four parts.

Chaos - Politics, Religion, Violence and Whatnot

Chaos, a straight-forward thrash metal band from Kerala, India. This Indian act started in 2005 when two kids made the clear choice to play aggressive metal, those young boys were guitarist Nikhil and vocalist J.K. Their influences at that time included the bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, etc.

Tusmørke - Enlightentainment

A Norwegian band that can be considered psychedelic folk rock, released their praised debut full-length late last year. "Underjordisk Tusmørke" is so strong that writer Leif Neverdahl didn't hesitate to contact the band. Benedikt Momrak (bass, singer) replied to Leif's questions about inspirations, meaning and the Norwegian -ø!

Amorphis - Transforming Shapes

The new album “Circle” could be one of my early top ten favorites for the year. Hooking up on a trans-Atlantic phone call with vocalist Tomi Joutsen, we were able to speak for a half hour about the new album and future plans for the band. His genuine enthusiasm for this latest album as well as the history of Amorphis makes him the perfect frontman, so let’s hope for a hefty touring schedule as the band bring their sound to audiences all over the globe.

Tribulation - ...Of Death

Tribulation’s second full-length album “The Formulas of Death” (released this March on Invictus Records) showed a considerable departure from the death metal attack of their debut “The Horror”. Imhotep dug up and re-animated Peter Loftus, and sent him out him out to find out what has been going on…

Preludium - Death And War

The Polish band Preludium have released three full-length and are now writing their upcoming album. Ebby Sasi got in touch with Ion (vocals, guitars) to learn more about death metal and warfare.

Images At Twilight - Lograttin Part 1 video

In early February IAT went into Marduk's Endarker Studio in Norrkøping with producer Magnus "Devo" Andersson to start the work on the debutalbum. Expect the new album to be released late summer/autumn 2013.

Omnium Gatherum: part 2/2 - …And Beyond

After taking in copious playbacks for their new album “Beyond”, Matt Coe fired off a series of questions to vocalist Jukka Pelkonen (J) and guitarist Markus Vanhala (M), wishing to understand more of the mind and philosophies behind these musicians. Let’s hope you enjoy this feature…

Omnium Gatherum: part 1/2 - Into The Minds…

After taking in copious playbacks for their new album “Beyond”, Matt Coe fired off a series of questions to vocalist Jukka Pelkonen (J) and guitarist Markus Vanhala (M), wishing to understand more of the mind and philosophies behind these musicians. Let’s hope you enjoy this feature…

Unspoken part 2/2 - Metal Of Death

Norwegian death metal band Unspoken has just released a great album. It reeks of death metal and Imhotep's Roy Kristensen had to get in touch with the band. Julian, Kent Are and Jonas replied to Imhotep's inquisition.

Unspoken part 1/2 - Brutality, Groove and Headbanging

Norwegian death metal band Unspoken has just released a great album. It reeks of death metal and Imhotep's Roy Kristensen had to get in touch with the band. Julian, Kent Are and Jonas replied to Imhotep's inquisition.

Chaos Echœs - Music And Art

Kalevi Uibo and his brother Ilmar har created a special unity with Chaos Echœs and there's more to come. Ebby Sasi got in touch with Kalevi to find out more about the entity named as Chaos Echœs.

Destruction - Another Thrash Genocide

Calling from Germany with a sore throat on the mend, guitarist Mike Sifringer happily handled Matt Coe's questions about the current state of affairs, and let’s hope for some more killer touring escapades in support of this record.

Odem - Cruel Will

Odem have gained a lot of attention through their debut album “Rape Your God and Pray for Reprieve”. Black/death songwriting simply cannot get better than this in these days. For music journalists, especially, it is always tempting to conduct interviews with bands when the bands shine well in their career. Odem are currently one of the best bands from Russia. The debut album was a very remarkable which sounds technical, chaotic and brutal! Ebby Sasi has got a hot spot for extreme metal, be it black or death or a mix of both.

Bullet - Reach Out For The Full Pull

Calling from his homeland fresh off conquering the German festival scene at Summer Breeze, bassist Adam Hector speaks from the heart and feels very fortunate to watch the upward projection Bullet takes. Here are his answers to Matt Coe's queries.

So Much For Nothing - Hopelessness?

There's so much to life, but in the end, what's the point? I mean, we're doing so much. But we're doing so much for nothing, aren't we? After all, life is just a passage from life to death. And then there's death. Imhotep got in touch with Erik Unsgaard to learn more about darkness and happiness in life.

Destroyer Of Worlds - ...the devil speaks...

A few years ago Roy Kristensen felt the need to have some of his writings in print again. He printed the two limited issues of Destroyer Of Worlds. Some of these articles have later on been published on the Imhotep website, but here you can download the whole first issue and read it in its complete form, with the real layout.

This is best read in printed version. The files you download are .pdf files.

There is no copyright on this, and if you feel like using the stuff in there, go ahead.
