Their new "Requiem For The Indifferent" is, as expected, a dynamic journey through various landscapes in the vein of Epica. Dethster4life got in touch with vocalist Marcus Dietzsch to find out more about their inspirations, their abilities and how it is to be Living On The Razor's Edge. In time for the album’s release Imhotep's Matt Coe got in touch with Andre Hilgers to ask about his long recording history prior to Rage as well as his thoughts on joining one of the longest running power metal bands from Germany. Succinct may his thoughts be, but it doesn’t discount the fabulous, propulsive performance he’s given to the band through the years. This year will mark the seventh edition of the D-TOX Rockfest, which is often described as the loudest rock festival in Quebec. It takes place in the small town of Montebello and regularly attracts thousands of fans of booming rock music. There will be more than 100 bands playing at the festival, with names including Descendents, Pennywise, Grimskunk, Old Man Markley and Hail the Villain. It has also recently been announced that Dream Theater will headline the festival, closing it on June 16th after what will no doubt be a fantastic weekend of music. Will you be our Pleasure Slaves? Rue got a chance to explain the title of the new album, as well as the music and lyrics on "Heavenly Ecstasy", when Matt Coe & Roy Kristensen walked hand in hand to find out what’s going on in Heaven..., or was it Hell...? After reuniting for a series of shows in North America and foreign lands, the legions demand a new studio record from vocalist Kelly Shafer, drummer Steve Flynn and their compatriots. Enter "Jupiter", an 8 song tour de force that makes the long hiatus between albums seem like a minute blip on the radar screen. We feel it’s only natural to probe Kelly with questions to give the readers a fuller sense of what Atheist intend to accomplish in this second go around for world dominance. Last year's "Psychogrotesque" is an album full of surprises. It is disturbing, varied and it's an album that demands patience.
